James Suckling 95pt

Don't be put off by the full swing of oak overlay here, showing plenty of hazelnuts, pine cones, sweet spices and vanilla characters. There is also a streak of minerality alongside the deep and fresh blackberries with a hint of tar. Tons of dusty tannins on the full-bodied palate with juicy berries, before an extremely long and creamy finish with vanilla, blueberries and orange peel at the end. Not a subtle wine, but it flatters with its exuberance and it has a lot to offer.

Wine Enthusiast 94pt

A violet-tinged and barbecue-driven nose opens into a succulent yet finely chiseled palate. There's plenty to admire here- from the savory aromatics to the velvety texture- while the fruit is forward yet layered with depth. Surely this will continue to drink well, but it's already delicious today.

Decanter 96pt

Bold spicy, coconut oak, red and black fruit nose. Lively and fresh on the palate with herbal, floral and orchard fruit notes. A rather heart-stopping wine that encourages contemplation. <br> Gold Medal 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards

Wine Spectator 96pt

A classy red, with a richly savory nose, playing aromas and flavors of leather, cured tobacco and smoke off a pure beam of pureed blackberry and cassis fruit. Lively with orange peel acidity and a tang of balsamico, this is silky and harmonious throughout, integrating tannins that have a limber, muscular feel. Long and creamy on the finish, echoing accents of white pepper, paprika, iron and sage.

Tasting notes

It's a full-bodied, fruity and elegant wine with roasted notes and a long finish whose grapes come from one of our most special plots, La Rendeja. It's only made in special vintages for the winery.
