A medium- to full-bodied red with vivid dark fruit and notes of sweet spices and bitter chocolate. Polished and velvety with fine, plush tannins. Structured and refined. Lingering finish with hints of violet and walnut. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.

The 2020 La Gurgue is sumptuous and racy in the glass. Inky dark fruit, grilled herbs, lavender and espresso infuse this deep, layered Margaux with tons of character. Low yields produced a La Gurgue of uncommon depth. A healthy dollop of Petit Verdot (the result of low yields in the Merlot and Cabernet) adds character.

Aromas of mulberries, plums, pipe tobacco and licorice introduce the 2020 La Gurgue, a medium to full-bodied, lively and fleshy wine that's open and charming, even if it concludes with just a touch more tannic bite than its 2019 counterpart. This is always among the commune's finest values.

With nearly 25% Petit Verdot in the blend, this wine has weight and powerful tannins that are tempered by the quality of fruit. Juiciness gives a fresh lift at the end.
