Susana Balbo has always been a very good blender and it shows in the quality of this Agrelo cuvee of Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Petit Verdot, 14% Malbec and 12% Cabernet Franc. The new French oak needs a little more time to meld into the wine perhaps, but this is an expertly weighted red with layers of damson, blackberry and red plum, dense, compact tannins, lots of texture and a sheen of mocha and coffee bean.
